Embraco’s Product Selector Software new version
The most relevant new features are the customized performance and simulated temperature condition tool, alongside the options in English, Spanish and Portuguese
March 2023 – Embraco, a global provider of refrigeration technology for the complete residential and commercial cold chain, and a brand of Nidec Global Appliance’s portfolio, presents a new version of the Product Selector Software (PSS), a multilingual comprehensive online software with technical information about Embraco’s compressors and condensing units models. Available in English, Portuguese, and Spanish, the PSS allows users to choose the best solution according to their local needs, offering all the necessary information for selecting the compressor or condensing unit that best suits their needs.
“The most relevant change in the new version is the customized performance and simulated temperature conditions tool. It is a functionality within each product page that allows the user to obtain performance information based on the temperature condition of the equipment’s installation place. When the user enters temperature information (condensation, evaporation, liquid/subcooling, and return/superheat), he finds specific values for cooling capacity, efficiency, power consumption, and mass flow (gas flow rate)”, explains André Rosa, R&D and Product Strategy Senior Director for the Commercial Appliances business at Nidec Global Appliance.
The tool estimates the performance of the refrigeration equipment under the exact operating conditions of the compressor and therefore guides the engineer’s choice as to which model is most suitable for the equipment. “Furthermore, the engineer gets the most precise information about the exact point of operation within the system, making the simulation much more faithful to reality. In addition to this precision, we can add gain in time by reducing repetitive tests,” he adds.
The main advantage of this new digital tool within PSS is that the engineers do not need to develop their own simulation for the compressor. “With the customization functionality, the simulation considers physical concepts (such as thermodynamic properties of fluids and compressor efficiency in each process) in real-time,” the executive points out.
The PSS is used by product engineers when developing refrigeration equipment as well as by contractors and refrigeration technicians.
Other features of the new PSS version are:
- It is not a downloadable program. It’s just an online page, which makes it easier to use.
- Automation: all business rules are registered, and data transformation automated in the Nidec Global Appliance’s LakeHouse.
- Monthly automatic and free-of-charge data updates, connected to different sources.
- More product models available: new data architecture for a more robust software.
- A modern and intuitive platform: product detail redesigned.
- The dark mode is also available.
Digital tools package
The PSS is part of a package of digital tools and online channels, like Embraco’s website, which features the “Where To Buy” tool, where the user can find the nearest Embraco’s partner store or distributor, and the “ToolBox” app, with functionalities such as Embraco’s products catalog and data sheets, cross-reference between products, unit converter and troubleshooting.
