Embraco focuses on energy efficiency at HVAC&R Japan 2026

January 2026 – Embraco, a global brand of solutions for refrigeration, heating, and air conditioning, and part of the Nidec Global Appliance portfolio, will be present at HVAC&R Japan 2026, the country’s largest trade show for the heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration sectors. From January 27 to 30, at Tokyo Big Sight (Booth 5A-03), the brand will showcase a complete range of solutions for commercial applications marked by high energy efficiency, and reinforce its positioning as a one-stop partner for the HVAC&R markets in the Asia-Pacific region.

“At this edition of HVAC&R Japan, we want to highlight that we not only have a complete and highly energy efficient portfolio, but also that our solutions for Japan are customized to the country’s specific market needs and to solve the efficiency and regulatory challenges faced by Japanese OEMs,” states Esequias Pereira Junior, Sales and Marketing Director for the Asia and Pacific region. “This includes: a robust three-phase compressors lineup, available in both HFO and natural refrigerants, combined with a global team ready for co-development projects,” adds the executive.

VLT. New variable-speed (inverter) compressor for light commercial applications such as freezers, refrigerators, and bottle coolers. Available in R290 and R600a, it stands out for its compactness, ranging from 123 to 151 millimeters in height, while delivering cooling performance equivalent to larger compressors. It is equipped with a bivolt and bi-frequency inverter, offering  high energy efficiency, low noise, and resilience to voltage fluctuations.

FMF. A family of variable-speed compressors for commercial applications that offers top-tier energy efficiency levels, with displacement range from 6 to 15 cc. In addition to the three-phase compatibility, the FMF family has options running on R290 and HFO refrigerants, such as R1234yf. It is suitable for refrigeration equipment of any segment: food retail, professional kitchens, medical and scientific applications, and merchandisers.

Expanding the HVAC horizon: the new scroll portfolio

Marking a strategic expansion, Embraco will showcase its new scroll compressor portfolio. This range extends the brand’s reach into the heating and air conditioning markets, while broadening its presence in the refrigeration segment. The new lineup includes solutions for commercial and residential applications such as cold rooms, heat pumps, rooftop chillers, and central ducted air conditioning systems, with capacity ranging from 1.2 HP to 35 HP and compatibility with multiple refrigerants, such as R410A, R404A and low GWP options: A2Ls and R290. 

The move toward natural refrigerants & integration

Embraco’s booth will also highlight the industry-wide shift toward R290 (Propane) and system integration:

• Customizable sealed unit: the brand will display a “Plug & Play” and customizable monoblock that comes pre-charged with R290, offering a low-GWP (global warming potential), sustainable solution that simplifies the manufacturing process for OEMs.
  
  

• Sync it All ecosystem: electronic components that work in sync, featuring: the Embraco Sync controller, an Embraco variable-speed compressor, the Youcontrol development interface and the new Embraco Flow, a complete fan pack, comprising an electronically commutated (EC) motor, shroud, and blades, all 100% manufactured by Embraco. This air-movement solution achieves energy efficiency levels comparable to DC (direct current) motors while maintaining the robustness of AC (alternate current) motor architecture.

Reliable fixed-speed compressors range

Embraco will also showcase a complete fixed-speed compressors range compatible with three-phase power supply as well as natural and HFO refrigerants, such as:
EH. A compact and high-starting-torque compressor for professional kitchens’ reach-in freezers and coolers, frozen food islands, vertical bottle coolers and small ice machines, with cooling capacity from ¾ to ½ HP. Runs on natural refrigerant R290 and HFO R1234yf. 

NEX. A low-noise, energy-efficient compressor lineup with high cooling capacity, up to 1 kW (in Ashrae LBP), designed for food retail and food service applications such as frozen food islands and professional kitchen upright coolers and freezers. It is compatible with three-phase power supply and different HFO refrigerants such as R1234yf and blends R513A, R448A, R449A, R452A, as well as natural refrigerant R290. 

NT. A high cooling capacity compressor, reaching up to 1 and ½ HP, it is capable of serving ice machines and small cold rooms with a high level of efficiency, as well as professional kitchens, upright freezers and coolers, air curtain reach-ins, and ultra low temperature freezers. It is compatible with three-phase power supply, natural refrigerant R290, HFO refrigerant R1234yf and blends R513A, R448A, R449A, R452A.
