A case study using the Embraco Sync controller demonstrated an impressive 24% gain in energy efficiency for a refrigeration system — highlighting the power of intelligent control, especially over high-consumption components like the door heater.
Designed for precision and enhanced performance, the Embraco Sync controller communicates with other system devices (including the door heater) to command their operation according to demand. In this case study, Embraco Sync was implemented to a 572-liter upright freezer, with settings configured through our YouControl interface. Even though the freezer was already using a high-performance Embraco variable-speed compressor, the controller delivered significant additional energy savings, especially due to its ability to keep the door heater on only for the necessary periods.
A key aspect behind this level of efficiency is the Embraco Sync controller’s proprietary functioning logic.
A standard controller has 140 parameters to be set up, with the additional challenge that when you act on one, it can negatively affect the others. Thanks to Embraco’s proprietary new controlling method, our controller can isolate the parameters, making the setup easier and faster, reaching high levels of energy efficiency.
That‘s why by switching the controller, the whole system became more energy efficient and, just as good, the setup was faster and easier than before. These gains are especially important for the food retail segment and other commercial applications where refrigeration systems run 24/7 and energy is among the top operational expenses for establishments.
The Embraco Sync Controller is part of a larger integrated portfolio: the Sync It All, which is composed also of the Embraco Air fan, the YouControl development interface and Embraco variable-speed compressors. When working in sync, these components ensure faster development, easier setup, improved performance, and more energy efficiency.
