Embraco reinforces North American Aftermarket presence at HARDI Annual Conference

Company supports industry transition to natural refrigerant Propane R290

AUSTIN, TEXAS – Dec. 1, 2018 – Today at Heating, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Distributors International (HARDI) Annual Conference,Embraco, a global company that promotes quality of life through innovative cooling solutions, announced its commitment to providing technical support to its North American aftermarket customers. The company will showcase its full portfolio of aftermarket products at HARDI booth #148, specifically compressors compatible with natural refrigerant R290.

“With the U.S. light commercial refrigeration market already migrating to natural refrigerants, sustainable solutions are becoming mainstream. Propane R290: The Efficient, Sustainable, Safe and Cost-Effective Alternative
A pioneer in natural refrigerants for more than 20 years, Embraco uses natural refrigerants in its compressor portfolio for commercial and household segments as an alternative to reduce the negative effects on the ozone layer, greenhouse effects and to improve the equipment’s efficiency index. Benefits of R290 include:
- Lowers maintenance time and costs: With R290, service contractors can vent the refrigerant to the atmosphere rather than spend time recovering the refrigerant during servicing.
- Prioritizes worker safety: Hydrocarbons are flammable, but the risk of flammability is very low. In fact, the refrigerant charge in many domestic and light commercial applications is equal to a few pocket lighters (between 40g and 150g for commercial systems). Plus, the entire electric circuit of compressors using this refrigerant is designed to prevent generating sparks. There is also a very low possibility of refrigerant gas leakages with self-contained equipment.
- Simplifies inventory: R290 offers opportunities for customers to reduce their SKUs and provides solutions that offer operational excellence because it works very well in low-to-medium temperature applications.
